Grupo Xcaret, a prominent company in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico, has been making waves with its ecoparks, all-inclusive properties, and various services. One of their latest innovations is the Xcaret Agents Pro Booking platform, specifically designed to streamline the hotel reservation process for travel advisors. In a recent interview with Rodrigo Motavelazco, sales director for Grupo Xcaret’s Hoteles Xcaret hospitality division, the discussion delved into the new platform and the company’s plans for its flagship property.

Rodrigo Motavelazco emphasized the company’s long-standing relationship with the travel agent community, highlighting the Xcaret Sales Network that was launched a decade ago. This program caters to travel agents in North America, assisting them in selling activities to clients before their arrival. The Xcaret Agents Pro Booking platform is an extension of this program, offering a simplified way for advisors to access real-time availability and rates across all three properties within the group. It serves as a central hub for educational resources and marketing materials, with a future vision of a comprehensive platform encompassing all the offerings, from tours and parks to hotels and other products.

Business Dynamics and Growth

When asked about the contribution of advisors to Grupo Xcaret’s business, Rodrigo Motavelazco estimated that approximately 50% of their business comes from various channels utilized by travel agents. The opening of Hotel Xcaret Arte and La Casa de la Playa in 2021 has been met with success. Hotel Xcaret Arte, with its 900 rooms, has seen significant interest from groups for conferences and incentive travel due to its attractive features and All-Fun Inclusive concept. On the other hand, La Casa de la Playa, with its exclusive 63 suites and private beach, has become a hotspot for celebrities seeking tranquility and upscale service.

Looking ahead, Grupo Xcaret has ambitious plans for its flagship property, Hotel Xcaret Mexico. The company is in the process of adding another 900 rooms, scheduled for completion by fall of next year. Additionally, 10 new restaurants, entertainment options, and experiences for young guests are in the works, including a spa for kids and a teen nightclub. The renovation of existing rooms is also underway, with a target of 1,800 new or revamped rooms by fall 2025. Furthermore, the exposition and convention space at Xcaret Mexico will see a significant expansion to accommodate the growing demand for larger group events, including buyouts from corporate clients for sales conventions, product launches, and incentive trips.

Grupo Xcaret’s innovative approach to catering to travel advisors and expanding its portfolio of properties is driving its growth in the Riviera Maya region. With a focus on enhancing guest experiences and providing a comprehensive range of services, the company is poised for continued success in the competitive hospitality industry.
