Harry Reid Airport in Las Vegas is celebrating a successful first half of 2024 with a significant increase in passengers. The airport served 28.9 million travelers through June, marking a 2.6% rise from the same period last year. This surge puts the airport on track to surpass its record-breaking year in 2023 when it welcomed 57.6 million flyers.

One of the key factors contributing to the airport’s growth is the rise in international passengers. In the first six months of 2024, Harry Reid Airport saw a 20.4% increase in international travelers compared to the same period in 2023. To accommodate this growing demand, the airport is introducing new international options. Aer Lingus will launch direct flights from Dublin, Ireland, to Las Vegas for the first time ever, starting on Oct. 25. This new route aims to attract more visitors from Ireland and other parts of Europe, providing a seamless travel experience for passengers.

In addition to Aer Lingus, other airlines are also expanding their services at Harry Reid Airport. Norse Atlantic will commence operations from London’s Gatwick Airport on Sept. 12, while Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris will introduce flights from Tijuana on Oct. 29. The addition of these airlines not only offers more travel options for passengers but also opens up new opportunities for travelers living in central and noncoastal areas of Mexico.

Furthermore, Harry Reid Airport has seen the return of services from some airlines that had previously suspended operations. Virgin Atlantic, which experienced a 14.9% increase in passengers in the first half of 2024 compared to 2023, reinstated nonstop flights from Manchester, England, in May. This reinstatement of services reflects the growing confidence in air travel and the airport’s commitment to providing a wide range of flight options to its passengers.

Harry Reid Airport in Las Vegas is experiencing significant growth in passenger numbers, both domestically and internationally. With new airlines introducing direct routes and the reinstatement of services from established carriers, the airport is well on its way to surpassing its record-breaking year in 2023. The expansion of flight options not only benefits travelers looking to visit Las Vegas but also opens up new opportunities for passengers traveling from different parts of the world. The future looks bright for Harry Reid Airport as it continues to thrive and serve as a key transportation hub for travelers.
